My old mouse had one button. I wanted more. It didn't have a scrollwheel. I wanted one. The cord on my old mouse was too short for iBooks. I wanted one with a cord at least 2 feet long. Kensington's PocketMouse Pro USB will work just great for me. I received the PocketMouse Pro in the mail just over a week ago. I pulled out the retractable cord, unplugged my old mouse, plugged in the new, and voila! Mac OS X automatically recognized it, and even supported the right-click (for contextual menus) and the scrollwheel. I was very impressed. However, the scrollwheel, when pushed (like a button) acted as a normal click, so I went looking online and downloaded Kensington's beta drivers, which allow me to adjust the tracking speeds and program the buttons. Great! The retractable cord is truly beautiful. You press a button on the side of the mouse, and it unlatches a little door where the plug is stored. Then, operate it like you would a windowshade: give it a big pull to unwind its skinny little cord (up to 30 inches long), or give it a light tug to wind it back up. One last thing you need to know. This mouse is optical. Precise tracking, and smooth motion. 5 faces for this one.
